Karen has always been a mover, studying dance from a young age. She returned to mindful movement as her main form of exercise to help her cope with grief, a fast-paced London life and bringing up three daughters. High powered workouts no longer provided the grounding and centering she needed and through Yoga she discovered a sense of calm and resilience. Karen credits her main teacher Tania Brown for inspiring her to delve deeper into the ancient traditions and become a teacher of Yoga.  She trained initially (200hrs) in London with Yogahaven lead by Allie Hill and Amy McDonald. As a professional singer and voice practitioner she has always known the importance of breath but as a yogi she has truly come to deeply understand the benefits to mind and body. Studying further training in Yogic breath work with Michael Bikyer YogaLap Jan 2021. Karen completed her 300Hr advanced training in 2021 studying with Sianna Sherman and Greta Hill – the Rasa Collective – a tantric based yoga practise which incorporates deep dives into mudra (healing hand gestures) mantra (chanting sacred Sanskrit) and is focused on welcoming the whole individual on this alchemical journey. Embracing ourselves, the light and the dark all emotions (Rasas) without judgement. Rasa Yoga has helped Karen to combine all her strengths and align fully with her Dharma using her voice as healing medium integrating chanting into her practice.  Exploring the connection of breath, voice and body and utilising yoga as a form of mind body transformation for all.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON  
Arrivals from 4 PM onwards. Settle into your luxurious room, take a nap or a riverside walk, rest and read until our first yoga practise.

5:45 - 7 PM  Yang/Yin Welcome practice

7:15 - 8:45 PM Fireside welcome drink and followed by warming dinner and dessert.

9 PM Yoga Nidra and Sound to float off to sleep easily.

 

SATURDAY

8:30 - 9:30 AM Vinyasa Practise

9:45 AM Hearty Breakfast

10:30 AM - 1:30 PM Free time for massages, walks, reading and resting.

1:30 PM Lunch 

3:30 - 4:30 PM Fitness and Nutrition Session

5:30 PM Restorative Yoga

7 PM Fireside Drinks

7:30 PM Dinner

9 PM Yoga Nidra and Sound

 

SUNDAY

8:30 - 9:30 AM Vinyasa Practise

Riversdale Lodge, is a luxurious new riverside venue on the Thames at Bourne End in Buckinghamshire, just 40 minutes from London. It has a dedicated space for movement and nine guest rooms beautifully designed with luxurious bedding, underfloor heating and marble bathrooms.

This is the deluxe principal suite, adjacent to the idyllic roof terrace and with stunning views down the garden to the river. It is over 700 square feet, has a superking size French bed, a freestanding stone bath and a luxurious ensuite with a two-person shower. 2 additional beds can be added to this room, if needed

ROBIN

An airy vaulted room with 3 single beds and ensuite. This room faces west and south. 

HERON

£575 (2 sharing) | £525 (3 sharing)

The historic master suite, this large room offers one double and 2 single beds and an ensuite. The room faces south and west and looks down to the river. 

RED KITE

£575 (2 sharing)

This double aspect room is bright and airy. It has 2 single beds and an ensuite. 

GREBE

£550 (2 sharing)

This room faces east and is bright and airy. It has 2 single beds with access to the shared main bathroom that has both a shower and a bath.

KINGFISHER

£550 (2 sharing) | £525 (3 sharing)

A bright, double-aspect room with 2/3 single beds and access to the shared main bathroom with both shower and bath. A third single bed can be added.

PEACOCK (STUDY)

£550 (2 sharing) 

Situated on the ground floor, with a large south-facing window and also windows to the east. This bright room can have 2 single beds in place of the sofas, and access to a shared ground floor shower room. It is spacious and also includes a table for 4.

SNOWY OWL

£550pp  - BOOKED

Situated adjacent to the studio, this room has 2 single beds and a sofa that can be swapped out for another bed. It has access to the ground floor shared shower room.
